Women's Day Activities for Early Childhood Education

  • Reading and conversation with students and explained about the commemorative date of International Women's Day.
  • Talk to students about the importance of women and the role each one plays in our lives, citing examples such as: the teacher, the mother, the grandmother, the doctor. (Important: Leave children free to express themselves on the topic).
  • teach about the International Women's Day and why this date is celebrated. After the explanation, the children will be able to draw pictures on the topic.
  • Produce together with students posters using magazines and other support materials to find images of different women.
  • Using the students' art notebook, the teacher should teach about the reason to celebrate March 8th – International Day of Women and, in a circle, talked about the history of struggles for the valorization of women, remembering their strength and intelligence to conquer their space.
  • read the poem (Congratulations Woman or other of your preference) and then do sometext interpretation activities, through questions and answers made to the children. (With information from Santo Anjo School)

  • Prepare the symbolic Game Corner with various materials used by the mother: women's clothes, shoes and bags, makeup; toy broom, pots and stove; toy computer, papers and magazines, books etc.
  • In a round of conversation, the teacher will motivate students by saying that to celebrate Women's Day, they will think about the different activities that women do.
  • Allow students to express themselves freely, telling others about the profession of their mothers and other women who live with them. Expand the conversation by drawing attention to the various professions in which women work: doctors, teachers, drivers, secretaries, designers, maids, cooks, hairdressers, dentists etc. Emphasize that all professions are important and make a difference in society, in addition to being related to each other.
  • Then propose that they play freely in the Cantinho.
    Propose a mime game, in which a student imitates the mother so that others can guess what she is doing. Ensure everyone's participation.

End the activity by proposing a women's day wall with the collective registration of the many female professions through drawings, collages or spontaneous writing by the students. The teacher can also be the scribe.
