O athletics it is considered the oldest set of sports practices in humanity, also called base sport. This set of practices consists of modalities practiced since ancient times, such as running, jumping, throwing and throwing.
Currently, athletics is considered the. main Olympic sport, and its events are held in various places, such as fields, stadiums, mountains and even on the streets.
The sporting practices known as athletics date back to the first Olympics. promoted in Ancient Greece, in the city of Olympia, in the year 776 BC, nas. which tests were carried out in the modalities of running and putting weights. The Greeks called this event Stadium.

Obstacle races present obstacles to be overcome by athletes and have their events played in stadiums and can be divided into the following modalities: 100 meters (which are women's events), 110 meters (which are men's events), 400 meters (which are men's and women's events) and 3,000 meters (which are men's and women).
Relay races are. played in teams of four athletes, each of which has a. responsibility to cover part of the path with a stick, handing it over. for the next athlete to walk the path.
Marathons are a long-distance running modality, held in public places, such as streets and roads. Its path is officially 42 kilometers long.

The winner of the competition is the athlete who can jump the highest without dropping the pole. In this modality, the length of the poles varies from 2.80 to 3.40 meters, for men and for women.

Decathlon is a sport only practiced by men, and ten athletics are practiced in a single event. The modalities practiced in the decathlon are: 100 meter run, long jumps, high jumps, weight throwing, 400 meter run, 110 meter run with barrier, discus throwing, javelin throwing, pole vaulting and 1500 meter run, in which each event the athlete accumulates points, which are added at the end of the proof.
Heptathlon is a sport practiced only by women, and in a single event seven athletics modalities are practiced: 100 meters with hurdle, weight throws, javelin throws, high jumps, long jumps, 200 meter runs and 800 meter runs meters.
