Or if there is rain and no sun, ++
or if there is sun and no rain!
Or if you put on the glove and don't wear the ring,
or you put the ring on and don't put the glove on!
Whoever goes up in the air doesn't stay on the ground,
whoever stays on the ground doesn't go up in the air.
It's a great pity that you can't
to be in both places at the same time!
Or I keep the money and don't buy the candy,
or I buy the candy and spend the money.
Either this or that: either this or that...
and I live choosing all day long!
I don't know if I play, I don't know if I study,
if I run or stay calm.
But I still can't understand
which is better: whether it is this or that.

Ah! Dizzy girl.
all smeared with ink
the sun barely rises!
(she sat on the bridge,
very inattentive...
and now she is amazed:
who does the bridge paint
with so much ink?…)
the bridge points
and is disappointed.
the fool tries
clean the ink,
stitch by stitch
and paint by paint...
Ah! The dizzy girl!
Didn't see the paint on the bridge.

Call Alexandre!
Flame!
Look at the rain that comes!
It's the flood.
Look at the ground that runs away with the rain...
Look at the rain that soaks us.
Put the key in the lock.
Close the door because of the rain,
look at the street as it fills up!
While it rains, put the kettle on
on fire: look at the flame! look at the spark!
Look at the rain on the bundles of firewood!
Let's have tea because the rain
it's so much like a galoshes
you can walk in the crowded street!
Call Alexandre!
Flame!"
(Flood – Cecília Meireles)
the boy asks the echo
where does he hide.
But the echo only answers: “Where? Where?"
The boy also asks him:
"Echo, come walk with me!"
But you don't know if eco is a friend
or enemy.
Because you only hear him say:
"My friend!"
THE FLOOR.
THE GRAIN.
THE GRAIN ON THE GROUND
THE BREAD.
THE BREAD AND THE HAND
THE HAND ON THE BREAD.
THE BREAD IN THE HAND
THE BREAD ON THE GROUND?
NO
there was an old lady
who was bored
because she gave her life
to talk to someone.
And I was always at home
the good old lady
mumbling to herself:
nh-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm...
the sleeping cat
in the kitchen corner
listening to the old lady,
started too
meowing in that language
and if she mumbled,
the kitten accompanied her:
nh-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm...
Then came the dog
from the neighbor's house,
duck, goat and chicken
from here, from there, from beyond,
and everyone learned
talking night and day
in that melody
nh-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm...
so the old lady
I suffered a lot
for not having company
not even talk to anyone,
was all happy,
as soon as the mouth opened
everything answered him:
nh-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm-nhm...

Who buys me a flower garden?
butterflies of many colors,
washerwomen and birds,
green and blue eggs
in the nests?
Who buys me this snail?
Who buys me a sun ray?
A lizard between the wall and the ivy,
a statue of spring?
Who buys me this anthill?
And this frog, who is a gardener?
And the grasshopper and his song?
And the cricket inside the ground?

This girl
so small
she wants to be a dancer.
Does not know neither do nor re
but she knows how to stand on tiptoe.
She doesn't know me nor does
But she tilts her body this way and that
He doesn't know him or herself,
but she closes her eyes and smiles.
Wheel, wheel, wheel, with the little arms in the air
and she doesn't get dizzy or move.
She puts on her hair a star and a veil
and she says she fell from heaven.
This girl
so small
she wants to be a dancer.
But then she forgets all the dances,
and she also wants to sleep like other children.
As long as they don't have rockets
to go to the moon
the boys slide on a scooter
along the sidewalks of the street.
Speed blind go:
even if they break their nose,
what great happiness!
To be fast is to be happy.
Ah! if they could be angels
with long wings!
But they are just big guys!
Arabela
opened the window.
Carolina
he lifted the curtain.
And Mary
she looked and smiled:
"Good Morning!"
Arabela
she was always the most beautiful.
Carolina,
the wisest girl.
And Mary
she just smiled:
"Good Morning!"
We will think of each girl
that she lived in that window;
one called Arabela,
one called Carolina.
But the deep longing
she is mary, mary, mary,
who said in a friendly voice:
"Good Morning!"
the beautiful ball
dove:
Raul's beautiful ball.
yellow ball,
Arabela's.
Raul's,
blue.
roll the yellow
and jumps to blue.
The ball is soft,
is soft and rolls.
The ball is beautiful,
is beautiful and jumps.
It's beautiful, roll and jump,
it's soft, yellow, blue.
Raul's is from Arabela,
and Arabela's belongs to Raul.
At Chico Bolacha's farm,
what is looking for
you never think!
When it rains a lot,
Chico plays on the boat,
because the farm turns into a pond.
When it doesn't rain at all,
Chico works with the hoe
and soon gets hurt
and has a swollen hand.
That's why, with Chico Bolacha
what is looking for
you never think!
They say that Chico's farm
there's only chayote
and a lame dog
called Caxambu.
Other things nobody looks for,
why don't you think,
poor Chico Bolacha!
