NAME:
A popular Eastern legend tells that a young man arrived at the edge of an oasis near a village and, approaching an old man, asked him:
– What kind of people live in this place?
– What kind of people lived where you come from? - Asked the old man in turn.
“Oh, a bunch of selfish and evil ones,” replied the boy, “I'm glad I got out of there.
'The same thing you will find around here,' replied the old man.
On the same day, another young man approached the oasis to drink water and seeing the old man asked him:
– What kind of people live around here?
The old man answered with the same question: – What kind of person lives where you come from?
The boy replied:
– A magnificent group of people, friends, honest, hospitable. I was very sad to have to leave them.
- You will find the same here - replied the old man.
A man who had overheard the two conversations asked the old man:
– How is it possible to give such different answers to the same question?
To which the old man replied:
– Each one carries in his heart the environment in which he lives. He who found nothing good in the places he passed through, will not be able to find anything else here. Those who have found friends there will also find them here, because, in fact, our mental attitude is the only thing in our lives over which we can maintain absolute control.
