The owner of the farm was desperate and with good reason! Dozens of rats camped around, and ransacked the pantry at will! It was a rare day when food dawned intact and without being corroded.
The good man tried all the methods used against rats, but none of them worked. Finally, already willing to sell the farm, he turned to the cat's services.
"If you exterminate the rats, I'll feed you from time to time." he promised her.
This was not very satisfying to the cat, who, ambitious as he was, aspired to something better. So he preferred to make a pact with the rats. They could continue to live big as long as they brought him half of their loot.
- As is natural, I want to eat food of the highest quality. I told them.
The rats agreed, delighted, and the cat also began to live abundantly. The cat was very confident in his plan, until the owner of the farm, tired of being robbed, found a ferocious bigwig. In the blink of an eye, the beast took care of the rats and the lazy cat as well.
Ah! If the cat had accepted the farm owner's offer!
