Some species of sloths, anteaters and armadillos may disappear. The main risk factors are the loss of the regions where they live, hunting and being run over. In Brazil, the maned sloth, the giant anteater, the giant armadillo and the northeastern ball armadillo are among the threatened.
Another problem is raising these animals to domesticate them. Although they look sweet and smiling, like sloths, they are not pets, like dogs and cats. They have food _______________ that prevent them from being held captive, even for scientific breeding sites. The three-toed sloth, for example, has difficulty surviving in captivity, as each individual has their own diet and needs the right amounts of sun and rest to live well. No matter how good your intentions are with a wild animal, the right thing is to set them free.
