Ricardo Parrini is a biologist, but perhaps the term “naturalist” best describes his work. This is because their texts are rich in details and details, as the ancient naturalists did in their travel accounts. The book
Four Seasons, by its author, is no exception: it is filled with precious data on the feeding ecology of Atlantic Forest birds. The work is the result of 25 years of meticulous observations, carefully recorded in the researcher's field notebooks. The book addresses the different food resources used by Atlantic Forest birds, with an emphasis on the description of feeding behaviors. Parrini gathered in the book the results of several studies carried out in Serra dos Órgãos, in the Itatiaia National Park and in the Costa Verde region, located in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Unlike most books I usually recommend here on the blog, Four Seasons it's a more technical read. The publication is aimed at biologists, biology students and bird watchers who would like to deepen their knowledge in the field of Ornithology.
