A bear searched among the trees for small wild berries for his morning meal when he came face to face with a fallen tree, inside which a swarm of bees kept their precious honeycomb. honey.
The bear, very carefully, began to sniff around the trunk trying to find out if the bees were home.
At that exact moment, one of the bees that was in the field collecting the nectar from the flowers to take to the hive, returned and came face to face with the cunning and curious visitor. Afraid of what the bear intended to do next, the bee flew at him, sting him, and disappeared into the hollow of the fallen tree.
The bear, overcome by the pain of the sting, was furious and uncontrollable. He jumped over the trunk tooth and nail, bent on destroying the bee house. But, this only provoked a reaction from the entire hive.
So all that was left for the poor bear was to flee as fast as he could towards a small lake, where he dove and remained immersed until he was safe.
Moral of the story: It is wiser to endure a simple taunt in silence than to arouse the uncontrollable fury of a more powerful enemy.
