Walking through the countryside or admiring a forest is something that conveys a pleasant feeling of tranquility. Trees mingle so harmoniously that we can swear we are facing a world truly at peace. But behind this apparent lull, a battle is raging. Without you noticing, plants fight relentlessly for territory, food, reproduction and even for their own survival. Your opponents are bacteria, fungi, insects, animals that eat vegetables and even other plants. However, even though they are immobile, stuck to the ground by their roots, plants _________ their defenses. And what defenses!
