Do you think it was the Italians? Missed! It was the Chinese, about 4,000 years ago! The pasta was taken to the world by ships of Muslim travelers from Sicily and, in the 12th century, the Italian cities of Genoa and Pisa were already selling pasta to the rest of Europe. The food only arrived in Brazil in the 19th century, brought by Italian immigrants. And did you know that a dough wire, about 50 centimeters long, made centuries ago, was found in 2008 in China? It was made from corn flour – today we use wheat flour in pasta.
