THE iguana iguana – scientific name of those we know simply as iguana or chameleon – is an example of a lizard that uses its tail in a way, let's say, curious and even painful. The species is found in a large part of Brazil and in different environments, but it prefers the tops of trees that are close to rivers in flooded areas. When it feels threatened, the iguana usually throws itself into the water without caring (ouch!) about the height of the fall. But when it can't get away that way and realizes that danger is approaching, it twists its tail, or rather, swings its long tail and gives violent lashes to the potential predator. And more: it uses its big and sharp claws against the one who, for it, is the villain. Will you face it?
