They are considered the oldest soils that exist in Brazil, as they take thousands or even millions of years to form. Porous, does not accumulate rainwater. They have few nutrients for plants and, to be cultivated, it is necessary to use fertilizers. Its predominant colors range from yellow to red, with many light and dark tones. In flat areas, they facilitate the use of machines such as tractors, trucks, planters and harvesters. In these soils, which occupy almost two-fifths of Brazil, are large areas for planting soy, corn, cotton, rice, sugar cane, pasture and reforestation.
