Carnauba can reach up to 15 meters in height. Its straight and cylindrical stem has a diameter that varies from 10 to 20 centimeters. The tree bears fruit from November to March. They are greenish when young and turn purple when they mature. Its fruits are well used to feed farm animals. The pulp is used to produce flour and extract a milky liquid. Its almond is also used as a substitute for coffee powder. To do this, it just needs to be roasted and ground. The leaves are used to make roofs of houses and the fibers become sacks, baskets, hammocks.
