Read:
“O Fuxico de Janaína” brings us, in the manner of traditional African griôts, mythical narratives of Afro-Bantu religiosity. Janaína represents aspects of syncretism, that is, she transits through the imaginaries of different cultural traditions. The story of this book is a recreation based on the oral accounts of the “people of saints” of the Angola nation, narrated by Tata Kajalacy, who also attends Ataualpa de Figueiredo Neto. The book allows us to approach a Brazil that is still little known. Therefore, despite being aimed at children and adolescents, it will certainly arouse the curiosity and attention of readers interested in Afro-Brazilian myths.
