Flash and Douglas

Flash and Douglas had a problem, they were both in love with the same mare. Also, Douglas was even more at a disadvantage, because he was so much more shy than his friend.
- It annoys me! - Douglas said. - As soon as I see Isabela, I am unable to speak to her without stuttering.
In her stall, Flash was also thinking about it: “I urgently need this mare to notice me!”.
The horse thought, rethought and had an idea:

- I'll propose a race to Douglas and do everything to pass close to Isabela. I'm sure she will be amazed!
Flash put his head over Douglas's stall and made the proposal.
– I agree to run with you! Douglas replied innocently. – But, you know, I'm not very good at it.
