Once upon a time there was a prince, who had lost all his wealth. All he had were five faithful jacks with extraordinary powers.
It turns out that this young prince loved a beautiful girl and wanted to marry her, but the young woman had a jealous mother, who imposed impossible tasks on her daughter's suitors!
The prince took his five faithful servants and applied to win the bride. The first jack was quite plump and baked all the cakes his mother asked him to. The second knave, with very long hands, reached high into the sky and brought her a star when she asked. The third knave could see beyond the skies and found her a lost ring, which she had longed for! The fourth knave could hear deep under the water and told him stories from the bottom of the sea. And the fifth jack, who could cool anything with his icy fingers, turned the barren land into fields of ice in which she could dance.
The mother marveled at the talents of the knaves and allowed her precious daughter to marry the prince!
