Why is air invisible?
It's because the gases in our atmosphere are colorless! In other words, we would only see the gas if it was composed of chemical elements that absorb light and then “spread” the remaining colors, giving color to the environment. As not all rays that make up light are visible and as the atmosphere is composed of 99% nitrogen and oxygen, air is invisible. It doesn't absorb visible colors that we can see. The colors we see pass through the air and are not absorbed by it. If the atmosphere were iodine vapor, for example, the air would be violet.
