Terry was a very playful and mischievous little dog. He spent all his time scaring the other animals that lived with him. He mostly liked to scare the neighborhood cats. He was used to all the animals running away when they saw him appear.
"They're all cowards!" Terry was saying contemptuously. — As soon as I let out a few barks, they run by. It looks like a lie!
In fact, he would have liked to find someone who would face him, at least once in his life, but there was no way. They even spoke of a feral, roguish cat that lived on the corner of their street. Very incredulous, Terry went to check the courage of this animal. It wasn't even right in front of him yet and already Terry was breaking down in violent barks and ferocious gestures. Far from being frightened, the cat stroked the tip of its whiskers.
- Vain kitten! You better run away when I bark. Then you can have a heartbreak. Terry threatened angrily.
Without saying a word and very furious, the "kitty" threw himself at Terry and scratched him deeply on one of the paws, while saying:
"You're going to have a heartbreak, braggart!" Take it, and see if you like it!
Terry was scared to death. The scratch was covered in blood and was painful. Since that day, Terry has stopped chasing cats. On the contrary, when he saw one, he broke into a run with all his might.
