NAME:
They were floating around, the rheas.
In the farmyards.
We knew that rheas
eat glasses, sardine cans, soaps,
snakes, nails.
They said they have pliers gizzards.
Our mother was afraid that the rheas would eat
our sleeping covers and the glasses of
grandma's arnica.
I wanted to put a halter on the emu
and go out through the fields astride it.
we knew
that the rhea almost flies in the run.
And that almost doubles the wind on the run.
I felt like bending the wind on the run.
