Recycling is the set of techniques used to reuse materials that have already been used. The practice has been around since the dawn of history. The Japanese, for example, used paper scraps in the manufacture of other sheets in 1031 BC. Ç. At the beginning of the 19th century, there was already the custom of melting tools and weapons to use the metal in the production of new objects. Steel and iron factories have also always used recycled materials. But recycling was only adopted by the general population from the 1970s onwards. At that time, movements for the preservation of the planet gained strength, driven mainly by the first oil crisis.
