They seem to be everywhere: in snacks, ice cream, candy, cookies, meat, milk, butter. And everyone says they are the enemy of health and fitness. Of course, we're talking about fats. But are they really that bad?
The answer depends on the amount and type of fat you are eating. Nowadays, people consume a huge amount of foods rich in the worst quality fats, especially saturated and hydrogenated ones. Have you ever heard of them? Much of it comes from industrialized products, such as cookies, cakes and frozen foods. Another comes from fried foods, snacks and sausages, such as salami, bologna and sausage, and also from very fatty meats. There are people who still love to fill their bread with butter or fill their sandwiches with mayonnaise.
Indeed, in this case, fats, which are essential to our body to the right extent, will become villains, deadly enemies, which can lead to obesity and heart disease. But if, on the contrary, you opt for a balanced and healthy diet, you will see that there are even fats friends, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated, present, for example, in vegetable oils, fish, olive oil, seeds and nuts. These can and should be part of your menu.
