The Sacissaurus (Sacisaurus acuteensis) lived 220 million years ago in the region where the state of Rio Grande do Sul is located today. He is related to the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex. But unlike this giant, Sacisaurus was small and didn't eat meat. This dino, just 70 centimeters tall, ate exclusively on vegetables. Also, it is 150 million years older than the T-Rex.
The researchers found several bones from the animal's right leg, but none from its left leg. That's why they named it in honor of the most famous one-legged in Brazilian folklore, Saci. But Sacissaurus wasn't one-legged, no. On the contrary, it had long and strong legs, which indicates an animal capable of moving quickly.
