village writers

Who does not know the curupira, the boy with fire-colored hair and feet turned backward, capable of leaving any hunter lost in the forest? Or, then, the legend of the boto, which guarantees that this animal is capable of transforming itself into a very seductive boy? In fact, it's hard to find someone who has never heard these stories. However, did you know that those who created them, for a long time, could not count them? It is true. For centuries, the Indians – who have a repertoire made up of these and many other narratives – did not have the chance to record their stories in books. All because we didn't know their language and they didn't know ours. But isn't that changed today?
