Three curious children investigate supernatural events that surround a strange house in the neighborhood and discover that the place has a very evil personality of its own. With hints of horror and comedy, the animation combines scary elements with scenes full of tension and suspense, as well as a good dose of humor. Thought-provoking, the plot has the potential to entertain and draw the audience's attention.
No adult believes when young people say that there is a house in the neighborhood, which has life and behaves like a dangerous creature. The strange house where Mr Epaminondas lives devours everything around him. With Halloween approaching, the trio must find a way to destroy the haunted land house before it harms innocent children.
In dealing with growth and the fears of coming of age, the film has an original conception and charismatic characters. Despite the qualities, the North American production was passed over in the movie awards. The work was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe in the category of Best Animation, in 2007, but did not win the statuette.
