NAME:
Beetles are everywhere on the planet. For them, nature is an inexhaustible source of food. See, the serra-pau has this name because it feeds on wood. One species is called turds because of its preference for droppings, while another has more “refined” habits, as it only eats flower petals. The boll weevil and the borer are terrible for cotton crops; the boll weevil eats the flower before it opens, while the borer attacks the root, weakening the plant.
The ladybug, which is also a beetle, helps to fight pests in crops, it eats about 20 aphids a day.
There are also beetles that love a library, but they don't go there for a good read, but to devour the books. In this case, it is their larvae that pierce the covers of books, causing the most damage.
