NAME:

I studied alone and passed a public exam!

I worked Monday through Friday, weekends, holidays and was on duty every night. “You're going to get rich, huh?!” they mocked me. Ah! And still earned a misery. To make matters worse, the company where I was an electrician fired people every year to reduce costs. This upset me even more...

But you couldn't abandon the boat. I was engaged. Unemployed, you can't get married, right? Then the children came… Conclusion: I killed myself so that they wouldn't lack for anything. On the other hand, I was a totally absent parent. I was no longer with my family. My salvation: the public contest.
One day, I saw a report on television: "The Federal Police's public tender is open". Public tender… How come I didn't think about it before? But I hadn't gone to college, just a technical course in electrical engineering. So, I turned to the internet to get more information. I found out that there are also open positions that require only high school! I signed up and took the test, just to find out what it was like. When the result came out, my God! “Has anyone managed to do worse than me?” I asked myself.
On the second try I was better. Then I decided to take it seriously. I tried to know about all areas, to decide which one had more to do with me. I read several notices, documents that publicize the open competitions, to know the vacancies and what I would have to study for each one. I chose the area of justice. However, as the money was short, I had to wait.
“Juliano, I want someone to fix my electrical installation,” an aunt told me. I did the job for her. As a form of payment, she bought my first handouts and entered me in the contest. And so the journey began.
I was rusty and overworked. The only time I had was on the bus to and from work. But who said I could? I didn't concentrate, it gave me a lot of sleep. For me, it was humanly impossible to read those texts! But in the end I achieved my goal!
I entered with a salary of R$1,300. Thirteen years later, I get a lot more, apart from stability and security. I work with a decent workload and I have time to enjoy this happiness with my family.
