The old cockroach climbed by the bottom of the glass that, still with some wine, had been left in a corner of the kitchen, descended from the inside and began to nibble on the wine. Due to the small distance that the cockroaches go from the mouth to the brain, the alcohol soon rose to the latter. Drunk, the cockroach fell into the glass. She struggled, drank more wine, became dizzier, struggled more, drank more, drank more, and was almost dying when she saw the face of the domestic cat that smiled at her afflictions from the top of her glass.
- Kitten, my kitten - she asked - save me, save me. Save me that as soon as I leave I'll let you swallow me whole, just like you like. Save me.
– Do you really let me swallow you? – said the cat.
– Saaaalva me! - Begged the cockroach. - I promise.
The cat then turned the glass with a paw, the liquid ran out and with it the cockroach, which, as soon as it was on the ground, ran to the nearest hole, where it burst into laughter.
- What's that? asked the cat. – Aren't you going to get out of there and keep your promise? You said you would let me eat you whole.
- Ah, ah, ah - laughed then the cockroach, unable to contain herself. 'And you're such an ass as to believe the promise of an old drunk cockroach?
