Many know this plant, which can be annual or perennial, for lavender. But it is also called lavender. In any case, its small flowers in shades ranging from blue to violet represent a fragrance that is almost always associated with tranquility.
So much so that the Greeks and Romans used it as an additive for baths and to clean wounds. It's not just that. It is difficult not to be entranced by the beauty of a plantation of this species.
There is another advantage: its watering is scarce. In other words, it doesn't take much work to grow (and only requires one fertilization/year). At the end of flowering, which attracts bees and butterflies, it must be well pruned. To obtain its best perfume, the indication is to pick it with the sprigs of flowers, as soon as they appear.
