One night, the cat Alcides had a wonderful dream. He dreamed of a hot air balloon that had a very different shape and that hovered over an immense plain. For weeks, she couldn't forget that dream. Finally, he decided to build the balloon he had dreamed of.
It was shaped like a half-moon lying down. The cat Alcides constructed a wooden frame in the shape of a half-moon and covered it with yellow silk. Meanwhile, the woman had made the balloon basket and the daughter had filled four bags with sand, which they would need as ballast. After a few weeks of work, the moon-shaped balloon was ready.
The Alcides family loaded him with food supplies and sleeping bags. They filled the crescent with warm air and the journey could finally begin. The three cats traveled aimlessly and only the wind knew where to take them. On the third day of the trip, they reached a plain exactly like the one in Alcides the cat's dream.
- How wonderful! said the cat Alcides. "It's like I'm dreaming my dream again!" What will happen next?
No sooner had I said that, a large blue bird with a huge pointed beak came flying towards the balloon. He landed hard on the half moon balloon and, to the horror of the cats, began to poke a hole in the ceiling. Had the bluebird taken the half moon for a banana? The cats squealed and snorted, but the bird did not let itself be scared away and widened the hole even further. The hot air began to come out slowly and the balloon was losing more and more height. Soon they would land on the ground. Suddenly a curious palace appeared on the plain before them. The inhabitants would certainly help them. Or had one of the inhabitants of the palace sent the bluebird on purpose? all very mysterious
You dream of this story from now on...
