Once upon a time there was a poor farmer and his family, who worked hard to earn a living. They had a hen, a chick, a horse and a sheep.
One day, a hungry wolf came to the door of their hut and howled:
- Feed me your animals or else I will attack your family!
But the man treated his animals as if they were his own family. So with great sadness he turned to the animals and asked what he should do.
The hen and her chick climbed onto the ewe and pretended to escape. When the wolf gave chase, the horse approached him from behind and, with a quick kick, sent him straight into a cauldron of boiling water prepared by the farmer's wife. The farmer's children wasted no time in helping their mother cook a wonderful wolf stew for dinner!
- Indeed - said the farmer - a united family can withstand the greatest danger!
