How to avoid shark accidents?

Present on the Brazilian coast, sharks are part of marine life and attacks on humans are considered rare. According to researchers, the animals are present on the coast, but are usually seen from a distance and in deeper waters. Despite this, accidents with them can happen.

• The ideal is to always stay in a group, as sharks tend to attack solitary swimmers.
• It is also important to avoid swimming near the area with many fish, as they are the main food for these animals.
• Sharks are most active during the morning and late afternoon. Therefore, experts indicate avoiding these times. Especially if you are in deep water.
• If you're injured, don't go in the water.
• Do not wear shiny jewelry when entering the water. This might get their attention.
