Published as a serial between 1849 and 1850, the story is a classic account of the formation of a boy discovering a world that is, at the same time, magical, frightening and terribly real. Dickens constructs this universe brilliantly, lending it substantial parts of his own biography, but using as an amalgamation his incomparable inventiveness as a fiction writer and the most accurate inks of the English realism of the XIX century.
Thus, we follow David's life, from his poor and difficult childhood to the discovery of his vocation as a writer, in a journey full of comic, sentimental and sometimes tragic adventures. […]
