It is an insectivorous bat that occurs throughout Brazil. It usually eats flying insects, such as carapanãs (mosquitoes), moths, beetles, dragonflies and crickets. They adapt well to the city living in house ceilings and building edges. However, with the fear that people have about the possibility of transmitting diseases, bats suffer persecution, in addition to attacks from domestic animals. They are of great importance in insect control, being able to eat the mosquitoes that transmit Malaria and Zika and the insects that are agricultural “pests”.
