Read:
Surely, you've seen a small bird of about 10 centimeters that has colors similar to those of a well-vied and thought that it could be a baby of this species. It is common to make this association, but in the vast majority of cases this chick is a cambacica, another species of bird.
In addition to size, one of the differences between these birds that can be noticed at first sight and that helps to identify the smaller bird is that it has a pointed beak. The format is even appropriate, so that the cambacica can feed itself. She usually pierces the corolla of flowers to feed on nectar.
Therefore, it is not uncommon to see a cambacica in gardens, backyards and parks. The bird also tends to visit the drinking fountains set up for hummingbirds. It also feeds on fruits and small insects.
Despite being considered a common and abundant species in Brazil, this bird has curious characteristics, which range from the behavior for building the nest to the repertoire vocal.
