The animals had a feast. Just as they were going to sit down at the table, they noticed that there was no flour. So they called Sloth and said:
– Comadre laziness, go quickly to the city and buy gourd and a half of flour. But come soon, otherwise the food will get cold.
The sloth grimaced and muttered down the hall to the dining room. The animals were left to wait. One day passed… Two, three… four days passed.
All the animals were falling from hunger. Impatient, the agouti exclaimed:
– My people, what would have happened to comadre Preguiça, who has not yet returned? Then they heard Sloth murmur from behind the front door:
– If they push me, I'm not going to town to buy the flour…
