In this book, Lucy Maud Montgomery shares her tempestuous journey towards realizing the dream she has had since she was a child: to be a writer. Her childhood memories on Prince Edward Island detail her life in the countryside with friends and family. Excerpts from her diary are accounts of her work as a journalist. Even with the denial of her manuscripts, Montgomery persisted in her dream and when finally published, she had a rapid rise. Her goal was achieved, but some problems came with fame.
