Why do we salivate when we see food?

When we see something delicious, whether in a photo or in person, the brain identifies that you like what's on your plate. At that moment, it activates the glands responsible for producing saliva, starting the digestion process. This liquid helps dissolve food in the mouth and helps the taste buds taste the food.
