But the resemblance to hummingbirds is so great that it has given the ariramba some popular names associated with the masters of the air, such as hummingbird, hummingbird and cuitelão. Another known popular name of her is needle beak.
The beak, incidentally, is a striking feature of this species, and is adapted to capture prey in flight. No wonder it is easy to observe this bird on the prowl to hunt an insect. The red-tailed ariramba is one of the 15 representatives that make up the Galbulidae family.
