Due to its colors, this plant is the queen of Christmas and appears in several floral arrangements during this period of the year. But it is worth mentioning: in addition to the red color, its bracts (modified leaves) have shades white, yellow and pink (which many confuse with the flower itself, which is tiny, yellow and almost insignificant). The bracts have the function of attracting insects and birds, responsible for pollination of the plant. It propagates by means of branch cuttings.
The species serves for the formation of rows and sets, or even as isolated plants. The parrot's bill does not tolerate frost.
