Unlike most wild cats, jaguarundi prefer to hunt during the day when they are most active. They start moving just before dawn until just after dusk. Although they are very skilled at moving around in trees, they prefer to hunt on the ground. Generally, they are animals of solitary habits, being able to tolerate the presence of other individuals in their territory. In the wild, most observations are of solitary individuals, but in captivity they are quite sociable.
