The Palácio de Sal hotel was built in 2007 using blocks of salt from the mine itself. Much of the hotel's furniture and objects are also made of salt: walls, beds, tables and chairs. Despite the different structure, it is like a traditional hotel: it has a bar, restaurant, spa and even a golf course.
