Luis Fernando Verissimo is one of the most respected Brazilian chroniclers, author of unforgettable best-sellers, such as Comédias da Vida Privada and Clube dos Anjos, from the Plenos Pecados collection. Son of Érico Verissimo, one of the greatest names in national literature, Luis Fernando Verissimo was born in Porto Alegre, on September 26, 1936. At age 16, he moved to the US, where he learned to play the saxophone, a habit he still cultivates today – he has a group, Jazz 6. He is a journalist, but “from the time when he didn't need a degree to practice the profession”. Before dedicating himself exclusively to literature, he worked as a proofreader at the Rio Grande do Sul newspaper Zero Hora, in late 1966, and worked as a translator in Rio de Janeiro. Married for over 30 years to Lúcia Verissimo (“she's not the actress, she's not the actress!”), his first “serious girlfriend”, he has three children: Fernanda, Mariana and Pedro.
