Cora was an only child. One day, the mother owl laid an egg:
– You will have a little brother… or a little sister.
Cora began to think. She didn't like the idea of having a brother. That deigned to share everything, even her parents. Mama called her to help take care of the egg, but Cora didn't approach. She watched everything from afar: dad tidying up the baby's room and mom knitting clothes.
“Will they forget about me when the baby is born?” Cora asked herself.
One fine morning, the egg began to crack. Cora's parents celebrated and named the puppy Condito.
“He needs all of us, Cora. Come meet your brother,” Dad said.
Cora approached slowly. Condito smiled and extended his wings to his sister:
- Yeah, he's kind of cute, Mom.
As time went by, Cora's parents were beyond happy. She became the proudest and most doting sister around.
