Home office is a reason for changing jobs for more than 85% of professionals

The pandemic has brought about a significant shift for many industries. The labor market needed to reinvent itself so that companies could remain functioning, just as workers needed to change their routines.

In this routine change, the solution found was the home office. Work migrated to the virtual environment and, consequently, workers had to dance to the music.

The pandemic is over, as declared by the WHO, we are not subject to social distancing and many companies are back to working in person. In this return, more than half of Brazilian workers are missing working at home.

The home office is desired by Brazilian workers

According to a survey conducted by the Top RH Group in partnership with the infojobs, between April and May 2023, with the participation of 1,008 workers across the country, it was found that 85.3% of Brazilian professionals would be willing to change jobs if they received a proposal with more working days in home office weekly.

About 65.4% of survey participants reside in southeastern Brazil, with 34.7% aged between 35 and 44 years old, with 28.4% being 25 to 35 years old.

In addition, 64.4% of workers who returned to face-to-face work after the remote work period stated that their quality of life worsened with the new commuting routine.

It was found that only 14.2% of professionals stated that their quality of life improved upon returning to face-to-face work, while 21.5% did not experience significant changes.

Surprisingly, 78.5% of the workers called back to face-to-face work were not even consulted by the company about returning to headquarters.

Another 73.9% of the participants mentioned that the Human Resources department did not implement engagement measures to facilitate the transition, as the routine would be drastically changed and again.

The survey revealed that 47.2% of respondents are currently working fully face-to-face, while 33.2% have the option of hybrid work and 19.5% remain remote.
