Tiradentes is a mixture of the flavors of Minas: history, culture, religiosity, nature and gastronomy. It is one of the most charming historic cities in the state, with important examples of Baroque art that enrich its landscape. Some of its main constructions have the masterful touch of the sculptor Aleijadinho. Thanks to its rich historical heritage, the city was frequently chosen for recording films, soap operas and period miniseries.
The city's calendar is full of events, in addition to the traditional street Carnival and Holy Week, the Film Festival in January stands out; the Harley Davidson Appreciators Meeting, in July; and the Gastronomic Festival, in August. A tip to enrich your trip is to visit the district of Bichinho belonging to the municipality of Prados.
In charming Tiradentes, stroll through the streets adorned with houses and full of ateliers of local artists. You will certainly pass by Largo das Forras, the central point of the city. The movement of carriages, the small squares and the São José Fountain are a characteristic attraction, along with the handicrafts that are everywhere. And as if that weren't enough, venture out with the trekking in Serra de São José and horseback riding. In the evening, schedule yourself to watch the sound and light show at Matriz de Santo Antônio.
