In his adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic, award-winning author Luiz Antonio Aguiar ensures the dynamism and good surprises of this timeless pirate adventure.
A young man looking for opportunity, a lost treasure, a deserted island and greedy pirates. These are some of the ingredients that make up this brilliant adaptation of the 1883 classic. After the death of his father, the boy Jim Hawkins, with the map he finds in the chest of the mysterious pirate Billy Bones in hand, goes looking for a lost treasure, alongside Lord Trelawney, Dr. Livesey and Long John Silver.
Dangerous and surprising, the journey of these renowned characters totally involves the reader, who will be moved and have fun following the plot twists in one breath.
Having already published several adaptations of classic works, author Luiz Antonio Aguiar masterfully captures the essence and vigor of Stevenson's text. As well as in the Escarlate editions of Poliana it's from Don Quixote (The adventures of Don Quixote and his faithful squire Sancho Panza), the cover and vignettes of this book are by Ana Matsusaki.
