The imagination of the writers of the Middle Ages created wonderful works, but, on the other hand, it also generated a misunderstanding from the historical point of view. When you think of King Arthur, you imagine stone castles and knights in armor, don't you? Well know that this is far from reality: in the 5th and 6th centuries after Christ, the inhabitants of Britannia still did not build castles. The seat of the famous “Court of Camelot” would therefore be a wooden fortress. As for the king's companions, it is very likely that they fought on horseback, but the orders of cavalry, with their ideals and codes of honor, only emerged around the 12th century. Armor composed of several solid pieces of metal came even later. So King Arthur, or the warrior who gave rise to the legend, must have worn a garment of mail or armor of metal scales over a leather brace, just like the Romans of that period. This __________ the inhabitants of Britannia adopted the military equipment and techniques used by the Romans.
