Once, some men had to make a long journey and there was a lot of load to be carried by donkeys. So they decided to let each donkey choose what he wanted to carry.
The oldest of the donkeys, who was the first to choose, decided to carry the biggest basket, the heaviest of all, the one that carried the men's food. The other donkeys burst out laughing!
– What an ass! The older, the dumber…
And there went the old donkey with all that weight on its back and, on top of that, listening to the jokes of his companions.
But as the journey continued, at each stop, the men helped themselves to food from the old donkey's basket. In just a few days, he was very happy and relaxed, with his basket almost empty.
Meanwhile, the other donkeys were still sweating from the weight of their loads, which hadn't lessened one bit.
