There is a special place in Brazil where the boi-bumbá revelry has become a true spectacle. We are talking about Parintins, 420 km from Manaus, capital of Amazonas. There, the business is so professional that the party, held between the 28th and 30th of July, takes place at the bumbódromo (as in the Rio de Janeiro carnival where samba schools perform at the Sambódromo). About 35,000 people (wow!) every year go to cheer for one of the party's oxen – Garantido and Caprichoso.
