Eva Furnari
Eva Furnari – One of the main figures in children's literature. Eva Furnari was born in Rome (Italy) in 1948 and arrived in Brazil in 1950, settling in São Paulo. Since she was very young, her attraction has been print books and it is not surprising to imagine her involved with colors, pencils and brushes, drawing worlds and characters to inhabit them...
Her creative skills led her, first, to the universe of Plastic Arts exhibiting, in 1971, drawings and paintings at the Association of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art, in an exhibition individual. At the same time, she studied at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at USP, graduating in 1976. However, erecting buildings became unattractive when it encountered the experience of visual narratives.
She started her career as an author and illustrator, publishing stories without verbal text, that is, told only by images. Her first book was released by Ática, in 1980, Cabra-cega, inaugurating the Peixe Vivo collection, awarded by the National Foundation for Children's Books and Youth -FNLlJ.
Throughout her career, Eva Furnari has received many awards, including the Tortoise for “Best Illustration” – Trucks (Ática, 1991). constructions.
